Wellington, FL Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

The Village of Wellington's vacation rental standards set a numeric ceiling on overnight vehicles rather than leaving parking to guest discretion. Sec. 6.2.2.A.5.b.iii caps overnight parking, excluding any vehicle parked fully inside a garage, at one vehicle per bedroom with an absolute maximum of four vehicles for a typical vacation rental. The code carves out one exception for Wellington's larger equestrian-area properties: a vacation rental with more than four bedrooms sitting on a parcel of one acre or greater may add one additional vehicle for each bedroom beyond the fourth.

Even where the bedroom count would allow more cars, the section layers on a second, harder limit: the maximum overnight parking can never exceed the number of vehicles that physically fit on a driveway, parking apron, or designated hard-surfaced parking area on the property. Any vehicle parked outside a garage, driveway, apron, or designated parking area is flatly prohibited, and the standard specifically bars parking on a swale, lawn, landscaped area, within the public right-of-way, or on a sidewalk, common overflow spots on Wellington's larger lots.

Every vehicle, at all times, must sit in an approved off-street parking space or driveway on the property. Because this sits inside the vacation rental supplementary standards, a parking violation is enforced the same way as any other vacation rental breach: a Class III civil infraction under Wellington's Code of Ordinances, citable without a prior written warning, that can push a repeat offender up the ordinance's suspension ladder.
