The Corpus Christi Short-Term Rental Ordinance (adopted June 28, 2022) requires registration of any property rented for less than 30 consecutive days. Two types exist: Type 1 (owner-occupied, allowed citywide except Padre/Mustang Island single-family zones) and Type 2 (non-owner-occupied, limited to 15% of block face in single-family residential areas on a first-come first-served basis). The annual permit fee is $250, renewable each January. Applications must include floor plans showing sleeping areas, maximum guest count, evacuation routes, and fire extinguisher locations. A local contact person reachable 24 hours a day must be designated who can respond to complaints within one hour. The permit number must appear in all rental advertisements.
