Investment properties, second homes, and accessory dwelling units that are not the host's primary residence are excluded. A host may register only one primary residence countywide. The Department audits randomly and on complaint; falsified residency proof voids the permit and bars reapplication for two years. Contract cities and incorporated cities apply their own ordinances.
Renting a non-primary unit, registering more than one residence, or submitting false residency proof leads to permit revocation, fines up to 1,000 dollars per day, and a two-year reapplication bar under Title 22.140.290(I).
