Cedar Hill City Council adopted the Single Family Rental Registration Ordinance (No. 2020-714) on November 10, 2020, with enforcement beginning January 1, 2021. All owners of single-family residential rental properties, including duplexes and townhomes, must register with the City of Cedar Hill. Registration is required annually on a rolling calendar year basis and also when the property owner changes. Each owner must complete a Residential Rental Certificate of Occupancy (RRCO) application form and submit payment. After issuance, a Code Officer conducts an exterior inspection within 30 days. Forms are submitted by email to code@cedarhilltx.com. Payments can be made in person or through the city's online portal.
