Under Inglewood Ordinance No. 22-15, it is unlawful to operate a short-term rental without a city-issued permit. The applicant must be an Inglewood residential property owner and resident of the city. The STR must be the primary residence in which the host owns and resides for at least 365 consecutive days prior to application, and the host must be 25 years or older. Tenants and subtenants cannot operate STRs. Properties in HOAs require written approval on HOA letterhead with contact information. Licenses are available for hosted, unhosted, and vacation rental properties. Vacation rentals have stricter requirements: 10 years of city residency, 5 years of property ownership, 1 year of vacation rental ownership, and the rental must be within 1,000 feet of the owner's primary residence. Owners of 2+ units must be registered with the Housing Protection Department with all fees and fines paid. Applications accepted year-round starting January 6, 2025. Permits valid for 365 days.
