Under Indio Municipal Code § 97.067, it is unlawful for any owner, lessee, tenant or occupant to let soil, trash, rubbish, garden refuse, tree trimmings, ashes or other waste sit on or blow onto a public sidewalk, street or alley, or to obstruct the free passage of pedestrians or vehicles along it. The same section separately makes it unlawful for a vehicle owner or operator to let those materials spill or blow onto a sidewalk or street. A related provision, § 97.070, bars displaying or storing merchandise on a sidewalk, parkway, street or alley outside of loading and delivery activity or as allowed by the zoning regulations.
