Summary
Working in, closing or obstructing any City of Sarasota street, sidewalk, alley or median is unlawful unless the city engineer has issued a right-of-way permit and fees are paid, per § 30-10.
It shall be unlawful for any person to work in the city right-of-way, make street cuts, park or store equipment or materials, undertake construction, or close or obstruct city streets, alleys, bicycle lanes, public parking spaces, sidewalks, medians, related infrastructure or other public rights-of-way unless a permit has been obtained from the city engineer and the required permit fees have been paid. Right-of-way permit fees for closure of public sidewalks may be refunded in whole or in part as provided in section 30-24.
