Yuba County, CA Sign Regulations: Freeway-Facing Signs (2026)

Nonresidential freestanding signs are normally capped at 20 feet, or eight feet in DC Districts and neighborhood-service uses in residential districts, under Section 11.27.110(1)(b). Section 11.27.110(1)(b)(3) creates a specific exception: sites adjacent to a freeway or state highway may increase the height of one of their permitted signs to a maximum of 25 feet, so long as that sign is oriented toward the freeway or highway. Per the Chapter's measurement rules, height for a freeway-oriented sign is measured from the project site's grade or pad, whichever is lower.
