Simpsonville, SC Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Section 4.10.3.J covers "special event signs," defined as a yard sign announcing a public event or garage sale. Requirements: (1) located at the site of the event; (2) area no more than six square feet and height no more than three feet; (3) set back at least 12 inches from any curb or edge of road; (4) the sign shall identify the date of the event and not be erected more than eight days prior; and (5) removed within 48 hours of the event's completion. Off-premises signs and signs placed in the street right-of-way, on utility poles, trees, or street furniture are prohibited (Sec. 4.10.4), so tacking sale signs on power poles or intersections is not allowed.
