Sec. in each window to a maximum of two which directly faces a dedicated street, dedicated alley, mall or parking lot area," capping illuminated window signage at two per establishment regardless of how many qualifying windows it has. A decorative neon border with no text does not count as sign area, and window signs that are not illuminated are not limited in number at all under this subsection. Sec. 210(B)(2) sets the size limits: an illuminated window sign cannot exceed four square feet; a sign built exclusively of neon tubing is capped at 25 percent of the window area or 100 square feet, whichever is less; stained-glass signs may cover the entire window; and any other non-illuminated sign material is confined to the interior surface of the glass, with all non-illuminated window signs together capped at 25 percent of the window's area.

Sec. 210(B)(3) permits window signs in every zoning district except residential zones and residential uses within mixed-use zones, while carving out a narrow allowance in the IMU-R, SFMU, TOD and DSP zones for one non-illuminated window sign at an on-site residential leasing or sales office. Lighting is further constrained by Sec. 210(B)(4), which requires compliance with the electrical code and bars glare, and caps spillover illumination onto adjacent residentially zoned property at two foot-candles above ambient light. The city treats these limits as directly enforceable: Sec. 010(D) lists Sec. 210(B)(1), (B)(2) and (B)(3) by name as infraction offenses, punishable under the citywide fine schedule in Sec. 010(B).
