Huntington Beach HBMC prohibits solicitation at any premises posted with a no-soliciting sign. Solicitors must respect posted no-soliciting signs and may not solicit at times posted on such signs.
Under HBMC door-to-door solicitation provisions, it is unlawful for any person to engage in solicitation upon any private premises or residence if the premises is posted against solicitation by means of a notice prominently displayed on the property. It is unlawful to solicit at any time of day if such time is clearly posted on a no-soliciting sign. Residents may post signs indicating they do not wish to receive solicitors, and those signs must be respected. Religious and political canvassing may have additional First Amendment protections.
Soliciting at posted premises is a misdemeanor subject to citation and fines.
