Jacksonville's no-knock (Do Not Knock/Do Not Solicit) provisions are part of the residential soliciting ordinance under Jax Ord. Code Ch. 250, Part 7. Property owners can post notices on their premises restricting solicitors and peddlers. Since 2013 (Ord. 2013-713), neighborhoods can also post notices at their entrances restricting solicitation for the entire neighborhood when supported by 60% of property owners. Solicitors who ignore posted notices or refuse to leave face penalties.
Jacksonville's no-knock registry provides residents with a formal mechanism to opt out of commercial door-to-door solicitation. Residents register their address (typically online or at city hall) and their property is added to the no-knock list. Licensed solicitors must obtain and check the current registry before canvassing and must not contact registered addresses. "No Soliciting" signs posted at a property are independently enforceable β solicitors who ignore posted signs face citations regardless of registry status. The registry covers commercial solicitation only; First Amendment-protected activities (religious, political, nonprofit) may continue at registered addresses but must respect posted signs. The registry is updated periodically and solicitors must maintain current lists.
Soliciting at a registered no-knock address: $100β$250 fine per occurrence. Ignoring "No Soliciting" signs: $50β$100 fine. Repeat violations: permit revocation.
