Rothschild, WI Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

Section 271-7A(1) of the Direct Sellers chapter sets Rothschild's calling-hours and no-knock protections in one sentence: a direct seller is prohibited from calling at any dwelling between 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. except by appointment, from calling at any dwelling posted with a "No Peddlers," "No Solicitors," or similarly worded sign, from calling at the rear door of any dwelling, and from remaining on premises after being asked to leave by the owner, occupant or other person with authority over the property. A resident who posts a qualifying sign is protected from any registered seller's visit, and any seller told to leave must go immediately, regardless of the hour.

The same subsection folds in conduct rules that go beyond the clock and the sign: no misrepresenting the purpose of a visit or the goods offered, no blocking sidewalks or streets, no loud noise or amplified sound audible beyond 100 feet, and no letting rubbish or litter accumulate around a sales location. These sit alongside the disclosure duties in § 271-7B, which require a seller to state their name, affiliation and the goods offered right after the initial greeting, before any other statement is made to the resident.
