Rothschild, WI Parking Rules: Snow Removal Parking Rules (2026)

Section 524-13A gives the Village President, or in his absence the Public Works Administrator or Police Chief, authority to declare a snow removal emergency and set how long it lasts, clearing the streets so crews can plow and remove ice. The Village can announce the emergency through any reasonable means: newspaper publication, radio or television broadcast, or temporary signs, rather than requiring individual notice to every resident. Once declared, § 524-13C bars parking, stopping, or standing any vehicle on any street or alley in the Village for the duration.

If a vehicle is found parked during the declared emergency, § 524-13D lets the Police Department have it towed, and the owner can't get it back until paying the towing expense and the surcharge the Village Board has set, on top of any other penalty. from November 1 through April 1, so the two rules can overlap during winter storms. Section 524-13E lets residents park off or alongside their driveway, on the side opposite the home's living area, during that same November-to-April window, but never in the front yard, and directs anyone needing broader exterior vehicle storage rules to the zoning code's § 590-96.
