Taylor, TX Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

Sec. 20-9 lets any Taylor resident exhibit, in a conspicuous place upon or near the main entrance, a weatherproof card no smaller than three inches by four inches reading 'NO SOLICITORS,' with lettering at least two-thirds of an inch tall. Once posted, no person may engage in a charitable solicitation, non-charitable solicitation, home solicitation, or leave handbills at that residence. The obligation runs both ways: every merchant or solicitor intending to canvass a residence must first examine the entrance for a posted card before approaching, and if a card is displayed, the solicitor must immediately depart the premises unless the occupant specifically invited the visit.

Subsection (c) separately bars ringing a doorbell, knocking, or otherwise trying to attract a resident's attention for solicitation purposes wherever a card is posted, again unless the visit follows a specific request from the occupant. The card rule works alongside Sec. , no more than three days a week, and never on Sundays or the major holidays listed in that section, so even a resident without a posted card is protected during those closed windows. Violations of the card requirement fall under Chapter 20's general penalty clause, enforced by the Taylor Police Department.
