Temple Terrace honors No Solicitation signs posted at residential entries. Solicitors must also avoid properties on a registered No Knock list maintained by the city if available.
Under the Temple Terrace solicitation ordinance, a clearly posted No Soliciting, No Trespassing, or No Solicitors sign at the entrance to the property or on the front door constitutes legal notice and bars commercial solicitors from knocking or ringing. Violating a posted notice converts the visit into civil trespass. Residents may also revoke consent verbally at the door, after which further contact is actionable. The no-knock protection does not prevent delivery of political literature or leave-behind handouts, which are protected First Amendment activity; however, ringing doorbells after a posted refusal may still be enjoined.
Ignoring posted sign: $250 first violation, $500 repeat, plus potential trespass charge.
