Parker, CO Special Events & Permits: Parade Permits (2026)

Section 10.08.010 of the Parker Municipal Code defines a parade broadly as any march or procession of people, animals or vehicles, in any combination, moving on a public street, highway, sidewalk, alley or right-of-way in a way that does not follow normal traffic rules or controls. The definition carves out funeral processions and motorcades of the U.S. Armed Services, Colorado Armed Forces, the Town's own police and South Metro Fire Rescue Authority, so those movements never need a parade permit. Because a parade is expressly listed as one type of community event, Section 10.08.020 folds it into the same permit requirement that governs block parties and rallies: no one may conduct or knowingly join a parade in Parker without a permit from the Town Administrator or a designee.

Section 10.08.030 adds a restriction specific to parades: the Administrator must refuse a permit for any parade proposed solely to advertise a product, goods, wares, merchandise or event and designed purely for private profit. As a result, only a school, governmental agency, civic or social organization, or a similarly noncommercial entity, can qualify for a parade permit under this Chapter.
