Escambia County, FL Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

' Subsection (14) states flatly: 'Permits are required for all types of special events when held on park or recreation property. ' Beyond that general permit, three specific activities are otherwise banned in parks unless separately licensed. Subsection (5) bars selling candy, food, drinks or sporting goods without a permit; subsection (6) bars selling or consuming beer and intoxicating beverages; subsection (7) bars renting or leasing athletic and recreational equipment. For each, the county administrator may issue a permit to 'individuals, corporations, clubs and other community organizations for sporting events, entertainments, fairs, festivals and other social events or functions,' but the applicant must file a completed application at least five working days before the event, furnish proof of insurance covering the county's potential liabilities, and agree to indemnify the county for damages.

A corporate or club applicant must also list its officers and directors and supply a copy of its charter. For beer permits specifically, the signer must be at least 21 and never convicted of an alcohol-law violation, and the application must list every server, each of whom must also be 21 or older. Once approved, the permit must be displayed in a conspicuous location at the event site, and it expires the moment the event ends.
