Pavilion rentals require a reservation only. Events with vendors, ticket sales, or temporary structures need a Special Event Permit submitted 45+ business days in advance.
Garland Parks and Recreation allows pavilion reservations up to one year in advance at any recreation center or through Parks Administration (972-205-2750). Pavilion rentals alone do not require a special event permit. However, a Special Event Permit is required when any of the following apply: food or beverage vendors, admission or ticket sales, sale of goods or services, or temporary structures such as tents, stages, bleachers, inflatables, or portable restrooms. Special event applications must be filed at least 45 business days in advance (60 business days for events needing City services). Parks are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; alcohol, gambling, and exterior amplifiers are prohibited.
Operating a non-permitted special event may result in shutdown, citation, and liability for City costs. Violations of park rules are Class C misdemeanors with fines up to $500.
