050(E). Each business gets one outdoor display, capped at a 15 square foot footprint, or one outdoor seating area, but not both. Whatever the setup, it must leave a minimum four-foot pedestrian clear zone free of any obstruction, and in the downtown and commercial districts no more than one foot of that clear zone may sit inside the curbside paver brick amenity zone; no table or chair may sit in the paver brick safety zone at all. Seating is capped at one table or bench for every ten linear feet of the business's street frontage, and each table can be no larger than three feet by three feet.

Furniture must line up along the front of the business, cannot be permanently affixed to the sidewalk, and the owner is responsible for keeping the area clean. Alcohol cannot be consumed in the right-of-way, including in an approved seating area. so the city can clear snow and ice. 050(E)(8): the owner submits a sketch showing the seating layout, dimensions, table and chair locations and proposed hours, and if the sidewalk sits in a Colorado Department of Transportation right-of-way, the business must also get CDOT's sign-off before the city will approve it.
