Pool barriers in Fulshear must be a minimum of 48 inches in height measured from the outside grade and constructed of non-climbable material. Gates must open outward, be self-closing, and have a self-latching device with the latch positioned to be inaccessible to small children. Openings in the barrier must not allow a 4-inch sphere to pass. Pools must also maintain at least 5 feet from side and rear property lines and 10 feet from any structure. The city enforces these requirements through its adopted International Residential Code and International Swimming Pool and Spa Code provisions.
