Clark County Code Titles 9 (Sanitation) and 11 (Abatement of Nuisances) regulate the placement and storage of residential trash and recycling carts. On collection day, carts may be placed at the curb generally no earlier than the evening before pickup (or 24 hours before) and must be removed by end of the day after collection, typically within 24 hours of service. Between collection days, carts must be stored out of public view — common compliant locations include a side yard behind a gate or wall, inside the garage, or in a screened enclosure that blocks view from the street. Carts left at the curb or visible in the front yard between pickups are a frequent Code Enforcement complaint in densely populated unincorporated communities like Paradise, Spring Valley, Enterprise, and Sunrise Manor. Cart placement must not obstruct sidewalks, ADA access, driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants, or parked cars. Republic Services requires three feet of clearance around each cart and minimum setbacks from obstacles for safe automated pickup arm operation. HOAs in Clark County often enforce stricter storage rules through CC and Rs and may fine residents independently of county enforcement. Improperly stored carts can also be cited under Title 11 as neighborhood blight.
