Reedley, CA Trash & Recycling: Bin Placement Rules (2026)

Mid Valley Disposal, the city's franchise hauler, requires residential containers to be curbside by 6:00 AM on the scheduled collection day. Each cart must be placed upright with the lid closed and the opening facing the street. Containers must be spaced at least 3 feet apart to allow the automated collection arm to grip each cart individually. There must be clear, unobstructed access between the container and the street so the truck can service the bins without interference from parked vehicles, basketball hoops, mailboxes, or other objects. Containers should be placed on a flat, hard surface at the curb edge rather than in the gutter, on the sidewalk, or behind parked cars. Reedley City Code Section 4-2-3 specifically identifies receptacles for discarded materials and recyclables left in the front yard following the scheduled pickup day as a property nuisance. Residents should retrieve containers from the curb on the same day after service is completed. Repeated failure to retrieve bins may result in code enforcement action. During high winds, residents are encouraged to wait until the morning of collection day to set out containers to prevent carts from blowing into the street.
