Under Ada County Code 5-2-5-1, only waste generated in Ada County (or the Bogus Basin Recreation Area) may be deposited at county disposal sites, only Ada County residents may deposit waste, no one may operate a vehicle on-site without a valid driver's license, and no scavenging is allowed. The landfill is a sanitary landfill and does not accept hazardous waste; household hazardous waste goes to the separate HHW facility (free, open Fridays and Saturdays).
Depositing out-of-county waste, entering outside posted hours, or scavenging is unlawful under Ada County Code 5-2-5-1 and can be prosecuted as a misdemeanor under 5-2-10.
