Davenport collects bulky waste (furniture, appliances, tires) every other week on your recycling day at no extra charge. For big cleanouts, schedule an Excess Waste pickup of up to five cubic yards (about 80 bags) for $40.
Bulky waste, items too heavy for one person or too large for a cart, such as furniture, appliances, and tires, is collected every other week on your recycling and bulky-waste day, included in the solid waste fee (Municipal Code 8.08.090(I)). For larger cleanouts, Davenport's Excess Waste program lets residents schedule a pickup of up to five cubic yards (roughly 80 thirty-three-gallon bags) for $40. Hazardous waste, electronics, and motor oil are excluded and go to designated drop-off sites. Setting waste out early, outside a scheduled collection, is a prohibited nuisance accumulation.
Illegal dumping and unauthorized waste accumulations are prohibited (Sec. 8.08.140). Municipal-infraction fines run $100 first offense, $200 second, and $500 after, with each day a separate offense and city abatement of the mess.
