Loveland Solid Waste runs two bulk disposal programs: (1) curbside Large Item Pickup, scheduled by calling (970) 962-2529, with size-based fees billed to the utility bill; and (2) the Household Clean-up Program, which gives each city utility customer an Annual Household Cleanup Voucher for one free drop-off (up to 2.7 cubic yards / standard pickup load) at the Recycling Center. Vouchers are valid for one year and can only be used once. Many appliances and electronics are excluded from both programs and must be processed through the Larimer County Hazardous Waste facility or e-waste recyclers.
Bulk disposal in Loveland is administered by the city Solid Waste Division under LMC Chapter 7.16 (Solid Waste Collection and Removal). Residents have two options. Option 1 β Curbside Large Item Pickup: call Loveland Solid Waste at (970) 962-2529 to schedule. Fees are based on the size and volume of the pickup and billed to the City of Loveland utility account. Accepted items are oversized goods that do not fit in the curbside cart β couches, mattresses, box springs, bed frames, tables, chairs, carpet (cut and bound). Option 2 β Annual Household Cleanup Voucher / Household Clean-up Program: every City of Loveland utility customer receives an Annual Household Cleanup Voucher. Take the voucher and ID to the city Recycling Center to drop off bulky items free of charge (loads cannot exceed a standard pickup truck load, or 2.7 cubic yards). The voucher is valid for one year and can be used only once during that year. The Recycling Center also accepts cardboard, paper, plastics, metals, used motor oil, and other typical recyclables. Excluded from both bulk programs: refrigerators, freezers, propane tanks (Freon and pressurized gas), large electronics (TVs, computers, monitors β e-waste), most appliances containing refrigerant or hazardous components, construction/remodeling/demolition debris from contracted services, concrete, rock, sod, hazardous materials, infectious materials, bulk liquids, and vehicle parts. Process Freon-containing appliances through the Larimer County Hazardous Waste Facility or a private appliance hauler; process electronics through Larimer County e-waste programs or a private e-waste recycler. Call (970) 962-2529 (Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) for either program.
Illegal dumping of bulk items in alleys, parks, or the public right-of-way is a separate offense under LMC Chapter 7.16 and is prosecutable in Loveland Municipal Court under the LMC general penalty provisions (Title 1), plus restitution for cleanup. Placing excluded items (refrigerators, electronics, hazardous waste) at the curb for Large Item Pickup will result in the items being left at the curb and may trigger a code-enforcement abatement charge billed to the utility account. Vouchers are non-transferable and limited to one use per household per year.
