Middleton, WI Trash & Recycling: Collection Schedule (2026)

04 of the City of Middleton Municipal Code, Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste, provides one set of collection carts, one for recyclables and one for trash, to every property: one set per unit for single-family dwellings, up to four sets per property for commercial or industrial uses, and up to four sets per property for other dwelling types. Every person generating waste in the City must separate recyclable materials from other solid waste and use either City collection service or a private collector. Households on City curbside service must place all recyclables and other solid waste in City-approved containers at curbside, or another City-designated collection point, no later than 6:00 AM on the collection day, and must remove empty carts from the public right-of-way within twelve hours after collection; carts cannot be set out more than twelve hours before the scheduled pickup.

Residents must keep tires, bulk items and major appliances separate, since those are not collected with regular trash, and must stack brush separately with cut ends pointed toward the street. Landlords must notify tenants of City, County and State recycling and solid waste requirements at move-in and annually after that. 12, collected as a special charge on the property's real estate tax bill.
