Annapolis, MD Trash & Recycling: Dumpster Rules (2026)

Annapolis Zoning Code § 21.64.300 sets standards for food and beverage-related uses: bakeries, delis, coffee shops, convenience stores, catering establishments, fast-food and standard restaurants, and supermarkets. Subsection (G) requires all trash and refuse to be stored in a self-enclosed area, either inside the establishment's building or in a properly screened, maintained dumpster kept on the same property. Loose trash receptacles cannot be set out more than 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup and must be removed within 30 minutes after pickup. The business is also responsible for keeping the storage area and adjoining sidewalks clean, and a site design plan reviewed by the Department of Planning and Zoning covers these uses.
