150 (Solid Waste/Recyclable Materials Storage), governs where a business has to put its dumpsters and recycling bins, separate from state law under the California Solid Waste Reuse and Recycling Access Act. 150-2: 24 square feet total for buildings up to 5,000 square feet, climbing to 96 square feet for buildings between 10,001 and 25,000 square feet, and adding another 48 square feet of refuse capacity plus 48 square feet of recycling capacity for every additional 25,000 square feet beyond 100,000. Under subsection C, the enclosure has to sit in rear or interior side yards, inside a building, or behind an approved fence/wall enclosure, and it is barred outright from the front yard, the street-side yard, any parking space, and any landscaped or otherwise-required open area.

Subsection D requires the pad to be concrete, secured against unauthorized access while still letting authorized users in, and screened from view on at least three sides with solid masonry walls, metal gates and landscaping, with an overhead trellis sometimes required to block views from above tall dumpsters. Storage areas also can't sit within 20 feet of doors or operable windows on adjoining structures, and driveways serving the enclosure must give collection trucks unobstructed access and clearance.
