Bryan, TX Trash & Recycling: Illegal Dumping (2026)

Bryan's solid waste code makes it unlawful to sweep, throw, or deposit brush waste or municipal solid waste of any type into a drain, gutter, alley, sidewalk, street, street right-of-way, median strip, drainage easement, or any other public place or private property: defined in the ordinance itself as "illegal dumping." Enforcement falls under Chapter 102's penalty article: any violation of the chapter is deemed a health, safety, and public welfare violation punishable by a fine up to $2,000.00, with each day the violation continues charged as a separate offense. The city can also recover its cleanup costs from the violator and pursue other civil or criminal remedies under Sec. 102-102.
