Galloway Township, NJ Trash & Recycling: Illegal Dumping (2026)

Galloway Township's Code Enforcement Office addresses trash, debris and contaminated spills, and Chapter 267 prohibits accumulation of rubbish, garbage or litter on any premises. Improper disposal of construction and demolition debris is punishable by a fine up to $1,000 plus cleanup and disposal costs, or 20 to 40 hours of community service. Under New Jersey law (N.J.S.A. 13:1E-99.3), littering is a petty disorderly persons offense with fines from $100 up to $500, and repeat offenders within six months face fines of $250 to $1,000, up to 60 days imprisonment and 40 to 80 hours of community service. Large-scale illegal dumping carries a minimum $2,500 fine under state enforcement.
