Meridian, ID Trash & Recycling: Illegal Dumping (2026)

Meridian City Code § 4-1-10 makes it unlawful to burn, incinerate, bury, dump, or otherwise dispose of solid waste or recyclable materials anywhere within city limits, and separately bans throwing, discarding, or depositing waste in streets, alleys, sidewalks, vacant ground, canals, irrigation ditches, drainage ditches, or other water sources. The code enforcement division of the Meridian Police Department enforces the chapter under section 4-1-5. Any violation of the chapter is a misdemeanor under section 4-1-13. Uncollected accumulations that create a nuisance, odor, or vector harborage are separately prohibited under subsection A of the same section.
