Universal City provides weekly residential trash collection through its contracted hauler. Carts must be at the curb by 7:00 AM on collection day and removed within 24 hours after pickup.
The City of Universal City contracts for weekly curbside solid waste collection for single-family residential customers. Service is funded through the monthly utility bill, and separate subscription is not required for standard residential accounts. Carts must be placed at the curb with the wheels toward the house and lids closed by 7:00 AM on the scheduled collection day, or the night before. Carts should be spaced at least three feet from other obstructions including vehicles, mailboxes, and recycling bins so the automated truck arm can grab them. After collection, empty carts must be returned to a storage location out of public view no later than 24 hours following pickup. Overfilled carts with lids that will not close, or loose bags set alongside carts without a bulk scheduling, may not be collected. Household hazardous waste, tires, batteries, paint, and electronics are excluded from regular pickup and must be taken to Bexar County household hazardous waste events or licensed drop-off facilities.
