Live Oak provides once-weekly curbside residential trash pickup via a franchise hauler. Carts must be curbside by 7 a.m. on pickup day and removed within 24 hours after collection.
The City of Live Oak provides residential solid waste collection to single-family homes through its contracted franchise hauler. Collection occurs once per week on a set day based on your service route. Residents receive a city-issued wheeled cart that must be placed curbside with wheels toward the house and lid closed. All trash must be bagged and placed inside the cart. Loose trash, cardboard boxes piled beside the cart, or overfilled carts with the lid propped open are not collected. Carts must be set out no earlier than the evening before pickup and retrieved within 24 hours of collection under Live Oak Code of Ordinances governing refuse collection. Holiday schedules may shift pickup by one day for major federal holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year; the hauler publishes the adjusted schedule on the city website. Residents experiencing a missed pickup should contact Live Oak Public Works or the hauler customer service line within 24 hours. Commercial trash collection is arranged privately between businesses and licensed haulers operating within the city.
