Unlike many Texas metros, Lubbock does not operate a curbside recycling program. Residents who wish to recycle must drop off materials at the Citizens Convenience Station (208 Municipal Drive) or other collection points operated by non-profits and private haulers. Accepted materials typically include cardboard, mixed paper, plastics 1 and 2, aluminum, and steel cans. Glass recycling is limited in Lubbock and may require separate drop-off. There is no mandatory separation or participation requirement for residential recycling. Businesses may contract with private recyclers.
