Section 26-2 is the entirety of Mebane's local recycling law, and it is a single sentence: the county recycling ordinance and any amendment to the ordinance shall be applicable within the city limits. The Code does not spell out its own bin colors, material-sorting list, or set-out schedule for recyclables; instead, it incorporates whatever standard the county recycling ordinance sets, and it does so on a rolling basis, since any amendment to the ordinance is automatically applicable inside the city without the Mebane City Council having to separately re-adopt it.

The provision traces to Code 1952, ch. J, art. XIV, § 1, showing the city has relied on the county's recycling framework since at least its 1952 code consolidation. Chapter 26's cross-reference footnote ties it to the construction-debris rules in § 6-101 et seq., the general nuisance provisions in Chapter 14, and utilities in Chapter 36, but recycling itself sits outside those; Mebane's own text on the subject stops at the one-sentence adoption clause. Because Chapter 26 has no penalty section of its own, enforcement of the incorporated county recycling requirements inside the city falls back on the Code's general penalty in § 1-6.
