Appleton, WI Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

Sec. 15-33(d) requires residential yard waste to be collected separately from all other waste on a Department of Public Works schedule, and (e) does the same for brush. Sec. 15-33(g) states the City will not collect grass clippings, and (n) covers leaves: they're collected curbside during a designated fall period, or residents may haul them to a City recycling site, covering the load to prevent scattering. Prep requirements sit in Sec. 15-30: brush must be cut into 4-foot lengths and tied into bundles no larger than 2 feet in diameter and 45 pounds, with branches no thicker than 3 inches under (d), and bundles must be stacked parallel to the curb, or within 3 feet of the curb line where there's no sidewalk, under (f).

Sec. the day before, with containers returned to storage by midnight. Sec. 15-31(g) makes it unlawful to remove or push yard waste, brush, grass clippings or other yard debris from a property onto any public street except during times the Department of Public Works specifically permits. Sec. 15-35 sets the penalty for any Chapter 15 violation, including these placement and prep rules.
