Full Breakdown

Broken Arrow Code § 24-21 puts maintenance of all private water lines on the owner at the owner's expense. When the public works department notifies an owner of a leak in the private line, the owner must have it repaired immediately; failing to repair it within a reasonable time lets the city cut off water service to that user until the line is fixed. Under § 24-22, the city maintains the service line between the main and the meter, but the line on the customer side of the meter is treated as private and stays the owner's responsibility.

Violations & Fines

Ignoring a public works leak notice past a reasonable repair window leads to the city shutting off water service to the property until the line is repaired.
