Cedar Park, TX Water Use Rules: Leak Reporting Duty (2026)

Cedar Park Code of Ordinances § 18.01.009 places responsibility for water loss and property damage caused by leaks in pipes or plumbing on the customer side of the meter, or elsewhere on the owner's property, on the property owner, their agent, or the tenant, not the City. Customers who experience substantial leakage may make one written request per year for a bill adjustment under the City's water leak adjustment policy. Under the companion water credit policy at § 18.01.012, adjustments for underground leaks, wall leaks, or slab leaks equal half the difference between leak-period and normal consumption, requested within six months of the repair with proof of the fix.
