Jacksonville, FL Water Use Rules: Recycled Water Rules (2026)

Chapter 752, the Jacksonville Reuse of Reclaimed Water Program, forces mandatory hookup: when reclaimed water service is available within the distance set out in the Code's Table 1, the owner of any residential, public, commercial, industrial, warehousing or multifamily lot in Duval County must connect to the reclaimed water distribution system. After connection, using potable water for onsite irrigation (or for commercial/industrial uses that don't need drinking-quality water) is prohibited unless the reclaimed supply becomes unavailable or inadequate, or the St. Johns River Water Management District authorizes otherwise. New development orders are conditioned on reclaimed water use where service is available, and cross-connections between reclaimed and potable water systems are separately banned under Sec. 752.107(c).
