Owners of dogs declared potentially dangerous must comply with containment requirements including secure enclosure, leash and muzzle in public, and liability insurance of at least $100,000. Failure to comply with dangerous dog requirements can result in fines up to $500 per violation and potential seizure of the animal. Vicious dog violations carry fines up to $1,000 and the dog may be euthanized after hearing.
