Cedar Hill Code of Ordinances Chapter 3, Article IV, Section 3-72 prohibits wild animals and dangerous wild animals inside the city. Limited exceptions include commercial activities (14 days maximum), TV/film production (14 days maximum), interstate transport under the Animal Welfare Act, biomedical research, AZA species survival programs, and wildlife rehabilitation permit holders. Non-dangerous wild animals may be kept with an annual wild animal permit from the animal registration agency. Permit holders must meet caging standards (Section 3-75), carry liability insurance (Section 3-73), and submit to inspections (Section 3-77). Both civil penalties (Section 3-79) and criminal penalties (Section 3-78) apply to violations.
