Any dog or cat adopted from Town of Apple Valley Animal Shelter shall be spayed or neutered at the time of adoption. The dog or cat shall be spayed or neutered within 14 business days of said certification... If the adopter or purchaser fails to have the dog or cat spayed or neutered within 14 business days of the dog or cat being certified healthy by a veterinarian licensed to practice veterinary medicine in this State, or fails to provide proof of continued illness or injury within six months of said adoption, the dog or cat may be impounded by Town of Apple Valley Animal Control Officers and/or a citation fee not to exceed Municipal Code Section 1.01.200(e) shall be written.
