Parking Rules in Oceanside, CA

If you live in Oceanside or are thinking about moving there, parking rules are one of those things you probably won't think about until they affect you directly. Oceanside has 10 specific rules on the books covering different aspects of parking rules, and some of them might surprise you.

Loading Zones

Oceanside's city council designates loading and passenger loading zones by resolution under Traffic Code Sec. 11.1, capped at half of a block's curb length. Vehicles may stand there only to load or unload, and only for the time limits set in Sec. 11.2.

Commercial & Oversized Vehicles

Oceanside bars commercial vehicles with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more from parking in residential districts, the Redevelopment project area, or the Harbor District for more than three hours at a time under City Code Section 10.14, and bans them outright between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Oceanside creates preferential parking permit areas under Traffic Code Sec. 10.30 when a neighborhood is impacted by outside parking intrusions. Driveway Rules
