Oceanside restricts commercial vehicles in residential areas through the Zoning Ordinance and Traffic Code. Home occupation vehicles have limitations. Oversized commercial vehicles are subject to the 2 AM to 6 AM curfew.
Oceanside's Zoning Ordinance and Traffic Code regulate commercial vehicle parking in residential zones. Home occupation permits under Section 3007 limit business-related vehicles and prohibit activities that change the residential character of the neighborhood. Commercial vehicles exceeding the oversized threshold (25 ft long OR 7 ft wide/high) are subject to the OTC Β§10.28 curfew between 2 AM and 6 AM. Semi-trucks and large commercial trailers are generally prohibited from residential street parking. On private property, vehicles must be parked on paved driveways meeting driveway standards, not on unpaved areas or required yards. The 72-hour parking limit applies to all vehicles including commercial. Vacant or unpaved lots cannot be used for vehicle parking.
Parking citation. Towing for oversized commercial vehicles during curfew hours. Zoning violation for commercial vehicles on unpaved residential lots.
