Under Oceanside Traffic Code section 10.28, no person shall park or leave standing an oversize vehicle, non-motorized vehicle, or any unattached trailer on any street between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Under OTC 10.14(a), commercial vehicles weighing 10,000 pounds or more may not be parked on any street in a residential district, Redevelopment project area, or Harbor District. Standard passenger vehicles may park overnight on most residential streets unless posted otherwise. The 72-hour continuous parking limit under California Vehicle Code applies. Residents can receive a temporary permit for overnight parking of an oversized vehicle due to special circumstances at $5 for 24 hours. Beach area parking may have additional seasonal restrictions. On average, more than 3,500 vehicles are tagged for potential impound annually.
