Large commercial vehicles are subject to Carlsbad's oversized vehicle restrictions (≥22 ft long or 7 ft tall/wide) and may not park on residential streets overnight without a permit. Business district 2-hour limits apply.
Commercial vehicles meeting the oversized vehicle definition (22+ ft long, or 7+ ft tall and wide) are subject to Carlsbad's overnight parking restrictions between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM on city streets. The ordinance exempts oversized vehicles actively engaged in loading/unloading for deliveries or construction at an adjacent building, and government vehicles on official duty. Standard commercial vehicles under the size threshold are subject to the general 72-hour street parking limit and business district 2-hour limits where posted.
$50 per citation for overnight oversized vehicle violations. General 72-hour violations subject to citation and towing.
