Once a permit issues, plan review is charged at 65 percent of the building permit fee for all structures, and each additional plan review triggered by changes to approved plans runs $80.00 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Inspections scheduled outside normal business hours also carry an $80.00-per-hour, two-hour-minimum charge. If an inspector red-tags work and has to come back, the contractor pays a $100.00 reinspection fee for each return trip; special investigations and special final inspections are billed at $60.00 each.

Certificate of occupancy work has its own line: when a change of occupancy requires inspection, every successive inspection stop after the first costs $60.00, so builders who fail the first C.O. walk-through are billed again for each follow-up visit. A miscellaneous permit violations fee of $1,500.00 plus double the normal permit fee applies if work proceeds without the required inspection sign-off, and the planning director can double any applicable fee where a gross or willful violation of the building code has occurred.
