Freehold Township, NJ Building Safety: Plumbing Permits (2026)

Plumbing work in Freehold Township is reviewed and inspected by the Plumbing Subcode Official, one of Chapter 115's four subcode positions under the Construction Official. The applicable fees sit in § 150-62(B), Plumbing subcode fees, last amended May 24, 2022 by Ord. No. O-22-7. Most household fixtures, water closets, bidets, urinals, bathtubs, lavatories and sinks, showers, floor drains, washing machines, dishwashers, hose bibs, water coolers and garbage disposals, are charged a flat $25 each. Heavier equipment costs more: water heaters, sewer ejectors, backflow devices, boilers, gas service connections, fuel oil piping and sump pumps run $75 each, water and sewer utility connections cost $150 each, and grease traps, interceptors, air-conditioning units and reduced-pressure backflow devices are $65 each.

Active solar system connections are also billed at $75. C. 20 plus a 25% municipal processing surcharge when a private, on-site agency rather than the Township inspects the work. As with every Chapter 115 permit, § 115-5 requires the fee to be paid before the Construction Division issues the permit, and the actual plumbing code requirements themselves, pipe sizing, venting, fixture units, come from the state's adopted plumbing subcode rather than from Township text.
