Lincoln, NE Business Licensing & Operations: Adult Entertainment (2026)

Sexually oriented live entertainment establishments are allowed only by special permit, and only in the H-3, H-4, I-1, I-2, and I-3 zoning districts under Lincoln Municipal Code § 27.63.730. No more than two such establishments may sit within 1,500 feet of each other, measured door to door. A separate 1,000-foot buffer applies against any residentially zoned property (AGR, R-1 through R-8), churches, schools, early childhood care facilities, parks, hospitals, libraries, museums, youth recreation areas, correctional facilities, and licensed residential treatment facilities. The establishment also cannot share a block with any of those uses. The City Council can waive the 1,000-foot and same-block rules if it finds no significant adverse effect on the surrounding area.
